With the economic development of the world and the deterioration of the global environment, the construction of nuclear power and the use of nuclear energy have become the focus of the next 10-20 years. my country has made significant progress in the development and construction of nuclear power, and the fourth-generation nuclear power technology has reached the international advanced level. Among them, the 600MW demonstration fast reactor project of the fourth generation nuclear power can lead the development of the industry and has extremely important strategic significance.
As a demonstration fast reactor, this project has extremely strict requirements on the safety of equipment. Among them, the refueling system in the key equipment stack mainly uses 20#Z25/Q245RZ25 carbon steel plate. This steel plate is very different from the conventional carbon steel in terms of comprehensive performance and organization, especially in the element composition, grain size and surface quality of the steel. The requirements for the uniformity of the performance of the steel plate and the whole plate are nearly harsh, so that during the material bidding period, the domestic old-age nuclear steel production enterprises are discouraged, thinking that the material design is unreasonable, and propose a large number of technical clarifications. The carbon steel plate used for the cock parts has become the material of the “stuck neck” of nuclear power equipment.
In July 2019, the relevant leading organization of Hanyesteel held a mobilization meeting for the production of carbon steel plates for nuclear islands, and determined the development of carbon steel plates for nuclear islands as a “key project of the group”. Facing the national demand, the Hanyesteel Nuclear Power Steel Project Team fully undertaken the project R&D, production and supply tasks in conjunction with the contract. Under the unfavorable factors such as nuclear island steel plate research and development, less production experience, many product units involved, complicated processes and strict technical indicators, etc., the full advantage of the integration of production, marketing and research was fully utilized, relying on the “three special” advantages, the steel grade was established The production process route successfully realized the steel plate product development of the fourth generation nuclear power 600MW demonstration fast reactor project. The delivery was completed in March 2020, and the first contract supply was completed. The fourth-generation nuclear energy system, sodium-cooled fast reactor, was used for the localization of carbon steel plates in the reactor refueling system, which solved the problem of scratching the product from scratch.
At present, the relevant products have been delivered to China First Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. for the demonstration of the independent construction of fast reactors. Therefore, Hanyesteel has become the only company in the country to rely solely on its own equipment to produce this product. In the next step, the Hanyesteel nuclear power steel project team will continue to carry out in-depth research and development of the product, further optimize the production process, improve the process route, reduce production costs, shorten the manufacturing cycle, and fully support the construction of my country’s fourth-generation nuclear power 600MW demonstration fast reactor project.
